Antigua & Barbuda based Lime, part of Cable & Wireless Communications has announced plans to launch LTE mobile data services having been awarded radio spectrum.

It did not say when the network would launch, or what regulatory conditions were attached to the LTE spectrum award.

Lime added that it is also sponsoring Antigua and Barbuda's Human Entrepreneurship and Assistive Resource Technology (HEART) development programme. The HEART programme will improve the lives of Antiguans through better access to and training in technology. It will focus on improving the care and services provided to the country's disabled and most vulnerable citizens as well as fostering more active use of technology by entrepreneurs, developing businesses and Government departments.

CWC currently provides 4G LTE mobile services in The Bahamas, the Cayman Islands and Monaco.
