Huawei Slows Staff Employment Growth in Romania

Huawei is planning to hire an additional 200 staff to work in Romania, taking its total workforce to 1,000 employees by 2018.
The company's local management made the announcement, and confirmed that 70 percent of the staff working in local offices will be Romanians.
That is however a slower rate of growth than the company had announced previously, when it said last July that it would reach 1,000 employees by the end of last year, and 1,200 staff by the end of 2014.
It's not clear why the company has scalled back its growth plans.
Huawei's operations in Romania are channeled around the Global Services Center, which currently has 400 employees, the Financial Assistance Center which has 265 employees and the Huawei offices, where the remaining 135 people are based.
According to a report in Ziarul Financiar, the Chinese company will invest another EUR 100 million in Romania by 2018, including taxes and labor costs.
