UAE's Etisalat is reported to have expressed an interest in the forthcoming privatisation of Benin Telecom.
The Benin government recently announced that it is looking to sell an 80 percent stake in the telecoms operator's mobile network subsidiary, Libercom.
Citing an unnamed source, Agence Ecofin reported that Etisalat would submit a bid, but not until after it completes its deal to buy a majority stake in Maroc Telecom, which is due to complete within the next few weeks.
The government's intent in privatising the mobile network is to increase its capital to fund network expansion.
Etisalat is already active in the country, after it bought Telecel Benin in 2007.
