Ruckus and Global Partnership to Create Managed Wi-Fi Services

Two Wi Fi service providers Ruckus Wireless and Global Reach have signed a cooperation agreement to combine their products and services.

Under the partnership, the companies bringing together Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi infrastructure with Global Reach's policy, management and authentication technology.

"Our combined hardware/software solutions dramatically simplify how managed Wi-Fi access networks are designed and managed by giving customers the power to create highly customized and carrier-grade public access services in hours rather than weeks or months," said Nigel Wesley, chief executive officer for Global Reach.

Global Reach provides network services such as network portals, social media login, real-time advertising personalization and powerful insights into user demographics and behavior, along with an array of policy controls such as time-of-day access, per user bandwidth controls and system health and network management analytics.

The combination of Global Reach and Ruckus will also help speed the adoption of Hotspot 2.0 services by combining Wi-Fi Certified Passpoint Ruckus Hotspot 2.0 products with Global Reach's Cloud-based authentication services that can provide Hotspot 2.0 roaming hub services between networks.
