Components manufacturer Elektrobit says that it has developed an Android based smart watch platform that can be offered to device manufacturers.
Elektrobit (EB) said that the platform has most recently been used in the creation of the adidas miCoach SMART RUN premium running smart watch launched in November 2013.
"We make accessing the smart watch market easy for brands" says Senior Manager Hanna Savolainen at EB. "Our customers can focus on what they do best - may it be product definition, look & feel design or creation of their value-adding services. We will take full care of the product development and optionally also of the delivery utilizing the latest technologies and our extensive know-how. "
The company did however warn that sales cumulating from the smart watch market is not expected to create significant net sales for EB during the ongoing fiscal period, and is not expected to have a significant effect on company's financial position or profitability.
