Google has confirmed that it is shutting down a little known but popular with its users service goal sharing next month.
Schemer was a goal-sharing and events management platform that worked on Google services and through mobile apps.
In a post on its G+ account, the Schemer staff announced that the service will close on the 7th February.
Following the closure, users will be encouraged to use the "Explore" section on Google Maps for Android and iOS to find interesting things to do around them, or Field Trip to uncover hidden or unique things in their city, among others.
The closure has not surprised many as the product had limited promotion from Google and few updates following its launch. The last time the company even posted a comment on its own G+ account was back in March 2013.
