Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Meizu has shown off its latest smartphone and announced that it will start sales in the USA for the first time later this year.
The Meizu MX3 smartphone comes with a 5.1-inch screen and runs on the ARM Cortex-A7 core and a core Cortex-A15 processors alongside 2GB of RAM. The main camera is an 8-megapixel version, with a front-facing 2 megapixel camera.
The OS is FLYME 3.0, which is a variant software based on Android 4.2.
The company said that the new phone will be introduced into the U.S. market in Q3 of 2014.
"In the North American market, many of the largest smartphone brands have raced to introduce increasingly complex features that can intimidate people who are just beginning to consider a smartphone purchase," said Meizu CEO Aber Bai. "These people are seeking an alternative that combines the elegance and functionality of today's smartphones with a friendly, fun experience along with consumer-friendly pricing, which creates a tremendous opportunity for a player like Meizu in the U.S. market."
