The likely successor to HTC's flagship smartphone has had more of its alleged specifications leaked and it is increasingly looking like a fairly minor upgrade.
What is codenamed the HTC M8 is expected to be the new flagship smartphone, as the HTC One was codenamed the M7 prior to its release.
According to the @evleaks Twitter account, the preliminary specifications include a Snapdragon MSM8974 processor, a five-inch display and 2G of RAM.
That indicates a slightly larger screen than the current model, although as the same resolution, so no more content will be displayed. In addition, the updated processor has been in use by other handset manufacturers since last September, so is unlikely to give HTC a performance boost over its rivals.
The biggest change is likely to be in the software, as the smartphone is expected to ship with Andriod 4.4 with HTC's own Sense overlay on top.
Preliminary HTC M8 specs: Snapdragon MSM8974, 5" 1080p display, 2GB RAM, UltraPixel rear / 2.1MP front cams, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, KK, Sense 6.0— @evleaks (@evleaks) January 2, 2014
