India's Department of Telecom has pushed back the date of its forthcoming radio spectrum auction until February.
The auction had been due to start on the 23rd January, but has been pushed back slightly to the 3rd February. The new calendar for the auction doesn't explain the reason for the delay.
The amended calendar now states that the last date for applications to the auction will now be the 15th January, with pre-qualification of bidders due on the 25th January.
The final list of bidders will be published on the 29th Jan, and the action will start on the 3rd Feb. Payment by the winners will still be due within 10 days of the auction ending.
A total of 46Mhz of 900Mhz spectrum along with 403Mhz of 1800Mhz spectrum is being offered in the auction. A separate sale of 800Mhz spectrum is expected later.
