Armenia's VivaCell-MTS Outlines 2013 Network Upgrade Achievments

Armenia's VivaCell MTS has announced that over the past year it added 143 new base stations across the country taking its total to 1055 base stations.
The majority of the newly-installed base stations (103) were installed in rural communities, with the remaining 40 base stations installed in towns. In parallel, previously-installed and already functioning 122 base stations provided with additional capacities and upgraded to 3G.
The company said that the modernized network will allow the introducing of new technology required for providing the population with new services and products.
Presently, 87% of the population of Armenia has access to HSPA+ coverage offering theoretical peak download speeds of up to 42Mbps.
