Mobile Banking Reached 11.5 Million Bangladeshi Customers

Bangladesh's mobile banking customer base reached 11.5 million at the end of November a rise of nearly 16% mainly due to an expansion of the commercial banking outlets.
The Central Bank announced that the value of mobile banking transactions reached Tk 5,533.6 crore (US$711 million) in November.
In addition, the number of mobile banking agents has reached 172,000 across the country.
A total of 27 firms are now licensed to offer mobile banking services, although just 19 have launched commercial services.
