Mobile Banking Reached 11.5 Million Bangladeshi Customers

Bangladesh's mobile banking customer base reached 11.5 million at the end of November a rise of nearly 16% mainly due to an expansion of the commercial banking outlets.

The Central Bank announced that the value of mobile banking transactions reached Tk 5,533.6 crore (USD711 million) in November.

In addition, the number of mobile banking agents has reached 172,000 across the country.

A total of 27 firms are now licensed to offer mobile banking services, although just 19 have launched commercial services.
