Mitec Picks Up Three New Orders
Published on:
Canada's Mitec Telecom has received new orders from three major telecommunications network providers. Two of the orders are from new accounts, and include CDMA 800 amplifiers and GSM1800 and GSM1900 RF conditioning equipment. The products are to be used in 2G and 2.5G networks that will be deployed in Asia, North America and Europe. In total, the contracts are worth approximately US$6.4 million.
"Even during this continuing challenging period in the telecommunications industry, we have been able to win contracts from two new accounts," said Ken Allstaff, Mitec's Executive Vice-President, Marketing and Sales. "Our expanded wireless products portfolio and increased manufacturing capacity gives us both the technology and the geographical presence to better serve a variety of customer needs. I am also pleased that the amount of business generated by our newly acquired Suzhou facility continues to increase. The mobile phone market in China is expected to double by 2005, so this region represents a very compelling growth opportunity for us."
Deliveries are scheduled for the current quarter. Mitec will produce the CDMA 800 products at its manufacturing facility in Montreal and the GSM1800 and 1900 equipment at its facility in Suzhou, China.'"
