Mobile payments services provider Square has made another of its modest sized acquisitions and bought the mobile payments startup Evenly.
Evenly developed a payment app that transfers funds between other users of the apps.
In a blog post, Square said that "more importantly, the team showcased the importance of prioritizing experience over the technical aspects of the product itself. In their own words, "Life is about sharing experiences, not splitting transactions."
As usual with such acquisitions, Square is shutting down the Evenly product and is buying the company for its staff and technology, not its customers.
Square said that the Evenly team will work on seller initiatives, bringing to Square the same focus on design that they brought to their own app.
