Published on: 4th Dec 2013
Japan's NTT DoCoMo has extended its business tie up with China Mobile and South Korea's KT Corp until January 2017. The tie up originally was established in January 2011.
The extension paves the way for the accelerated deployment of international LTE roaming services in China, Japan and Korea, starting with the December 2nd launch of KT's data roaming service, which enables KT subscribers to use DoCoMo's LTE network while traveling in Japan.
DoCoMo has been collaborating with China Mobile and KT through their business tie-up, which so far has included developing common specifications for international NFC roaming services, laying out a cross-border scheme for Wi-Fi roaming services in the three countries and providing Japanese mobile content for China Mobile's portal, Mobile Market and KT's Olleh Market portal.
