Apple Mobile Web Traffic Dips Slightly in November
Published on: 3rd Dec 2013
Usage of the Android mobile web browser has continued to rise even though Apple had been expected to put on growth following the recent release of its two latest smartphones.
According to analysis by Net MarketShare, which is based on traffic to web browsers across its network, Apple's share of the mobile web traffic dropped slightly to 55.17% in November, from 55.39% the month before.
Meanwhile, Android saw its share of mobile web traffic rise to 33.89% from 30.58% a month earlier.
BlackBerry continued its seemingly inexorable decline, coming in at just 1.65% of traffic, and Windows Phone has so little traffic that it is lumped in with the "others" category.
One caveat is that this tracks just mobile browser traffic, and does not include mobile apps.
