Romania's Romtelecom has been fined by the telecoms regulator for missing its coverage obligations.
The company was fined RON300,000 (US$91,000) by Ancom for failing to meet the coverage obligations imposed by its 410-415/420-425 Mhz spectrum licenses.
According to a statement from the regulator, the mobile network was allocated the radio spectrum in 2008 with the requirement to cover 90% of the population and selected main roads.
The regulator says that the mobile network missed the coverage target in about 10% of the towns and about a third of the required roads.
