Argos Launches Own-Brand Android Tablet

UK discount retailer Argos has launched an own brand Android tablet that it will sell for under £100.
Powered by a 1.6GHz dual core processor, MyTablet has a 7 inch, 1024x600 resolution LCD glass screen and features 8GB of memory which, with a Micro SD card, can support up to 32GB.
The device has been designed with families in mind offering all the functionality of a tablet with built in parental controls for younger users.
Argos' MyTablet, which is available in pink or silver premium metal cases, is ready to use with free pre-loaded apps and games including BBC iPlayer, Angry Birds and an e-Book reader app.
The device has a built in two mega pixel rear facing camera plus a front facing camera. It's also WiFi enabled, has Bluetooth capabilities and is pre-loaded with Facebook and Twitter apps.
Recent research from Argos shows that the most popular uses for tablets include playing games (61%), social networking (49%), listening to music (37%), homework (34%) and sending emails (30%).
