GTA Launches LTE Coverage in Parts of Guam

Guam based GTA has launched its new LTE based 4G network. The network upgrade overlays LTE technology within the northern and central areas of the island.
Existing GTA wireless data customers will be able to use the upgraded network at no extra charge.
Robert Haulbrook, president and chief executive officer at GTA says, "Since GTA first launched the iPhone in 2009, we've seen a significant growth in the use of smartphones here on Guam. As the island's smartphone sales leader, we're excited to launch our 4G LTE network to support all LTE capable handsets asthey continue to grow in popularity, such as the iPhone." He added, "Today, a vast majority of our customers are smartphone users and rely heavily on the use of mobile data."
LTE is available in key areas where most 3G data traffic occurs. Sites are located in the villages of Agana, Agana Heights, Asan, Agat, Barrigada, Chalan Pago, Dededo, Mangilao, Sinajana, Tamuning, Tumon and Yigo.
Plans are underway to expand 4G LTE coverage areas in 2014.
