MER Group says that it has been chosen to provide tower infrastructure solutions to an unnamed mobile operator in Kazakhstan.

The rollout comprises of tens of towers to support the operator's network expansion in order to improve territorial coverage and provide greater access to mobile services across the country. In addition, the telecom division has set up local operations to provide on-going engineering and infrastructure services as well as logistical support.

"We were charged with finding a solution that was cost effective, met the stringent safety and environmental regulations stipulated by the government and various agencies as well as addressed the unique logistic and weather challenges," says Uri Bar Yosef, GM of the Infrastructure at the Telecom Division. "After intensive studies and deliberations together with the customer, we came up with the pre-loaded tower solution using prefabricated concrete blocks."

The rollout marks the second project with the operator, following the completion of a similar one in Russia.
