Serbia Approves Cable TV as MVNO

Serbia's cable TV operator, SBB is due to launch a mobile service later this year, although it is being offered via an MVNO agreement.

Citing a statement from the telecoms regulator, the local Politka newspaper said that the cable network had been granted the MVNO license and is now negotiating with the country's three incumbent networks for wholesale access.

The SBB said that it is currently testing the three networks ahead of signing a contract.

When launched, the company said that its mobile service would be more likely to be targeted at a niche markets rather than the mainstream.
