Moldova's telecoms regulator has confirmed that it has now formally cancelled the mobile network license it awarded to the Cypriot Moldovan company Eventis Mobile back at the end of 2006.

The network launched its services in December 2007, but since April 2010 has been in bankruptcy procedures.

The company was ordered to suspend services in February 2010 due to a spate of customer complaints about the quality of the service. The company filed for insolvency in April.

That suspension was extended in June 2010 again as the company had also failed to meet its coverage obligations to ensure, by the end of 2009, the 60% radio signal coverage rate of the population and operate at least 340 base stations.

At the time of its suspension in 2010 it had less than 12,000 customers.
