Taiwan's telecoms regulator, the NCC says that it has approved all seven applicants for the country's 4G license auction, and set the auction to start next month.

The regulator said it has completed the preliminary assessments of Chunghwa Telecom, Far EasTone, Taiwan Mobile, Asia Pacific Telecom, Ambit Microsystems and two other bidders backed by Ting Hsin International Group and Shinkong Group.

All seven bidders passed the quality control tests to participate in the auction.

The regulator also confirmed that the auction will start on the 3rd September, and is expected to last until November before all the slots are finally awarded.

The government hopes to earn around USD1.2 billion from the auction.
