Telecom Argentina Profits Boosted by Mobile Data Services

Telecom Argentina has reported its first half financial results and announced that revenues jumped by 22% to P$12.7 billion, while net profits also rose, by 14 percent to P$1.45 billion.
Mobile revenues rose by 25% to P$9.4 billion, although the customer base rose by just 3 percent to 21.7 million. Revenues were boosted by a focus on mobile VAS and data services. Voice traffic levels per customer were flat.
Landline revenues rose by 16% to P$3.34 billion.
Throughout 1H13, the company invested P$1.55 billion. This amount was allocated to fixed services (P$671 million) and mobile services (P$883 million). In relative terms, capex reached 12% of consolidated revenues.
