Note -- this news article is more than a year old.

AT&T has finally sold out of the so called "Facebook Phone", although it had to slash the retail price in order to clear out the stocks following a sluggish launch.

AT&T secured the initial batches of the HTC First -- an Android smartphone that came with the Facebook Home skin sitting on top of the Android OS. However, sales at US$99 proved to be slow, and consumer feedback about the Facebook skin was poor.

The company swiftly slashed the price to just a dollar, and two months after its debut, the company has finally sold out.

"We sold a bunch more when we lowered the price," he told CNet in an interview on Monday. "We sold everything we had on that."

He declined to say how many units the company had ordered though.

Sales of the smartphone in Europe were put back while Facebook modifies its Home OS Skin to deal with customer complaints.
