Singapore's SingTel has upgraded its LTE network to offer support for theoretical peak download speeds of 150Mbps, although the realistic figure is just 5 40Mbps, even with the few compatible devices capable to supporting it.
In addition to outdoor coverage, SingTel said that it is working with building owners and property developers to implement 4G capabilities in as many buildings as possible.
Mobile Broadband 150 will be offered with a mobile Wi-Fi modem from 11 May and a USB dongle modem from 18 May.
"Our customers can look forward to a 150Mbps service for smartphones and tablets in the coming months when handsets compatible with these speeds become available in Singapore," said Johan Buse, SingTel's Vice President of Consumer Marketing.
