Kyrgyzstan Government to Sell 75% Stake in State-Owned Mobile Network

Published on:

The Kyrgyzstan government has announced another attempt to sell a 75% stake in the state-owned Kyrgyz Mobile Company, following two failed previous auctions.

According to a statement on a government website, the government owns 100% of the company and will offer 75% to an outside investor, who will be required to pay in full and in cash for the stake within 10 days of an auction being completed.

The auction is set for the 19th April and there is a reserve price of KGS152.5 million (US$3.2 million), although Google translate kindly informed us that the reserve price was 152 million catfish. That's a lot of fish.
