A UK train driver has been praised after using the tannoy system to rebuke a passenger who was talking loudly on her mobile phone.
The driver of the a [packed London Midland train carrying commuters home in the evening reportedly broadcast a message over the public address system, which was heard by the entire train.
"This is a special message to the lady travelling in first class in the middle of the train. Please refrain from shouting on the phone as you are annoying other passengers."
Peter Foot, chairman of the National Campaign for Courtesy (NCC), told the BBC News that the announcement was "marvellous".
It's thought that another passenger may have made a complaint to train staff after the phone user failed to calm down her verbal onslaught. She ended her phone call after the public rebuke.
A spokesman for London Midland said such announcements were not part of company policy.
