GPRS Access Just Got Faster

First Hop has launched an application that transparently accelerates GPRS mobile access. First Hop GPRS Accelerator 1.1. improves transmission quality and the optimisation methods are fully compliant with commonly used VPN technologies. Unlike many other offerings on the market, First Hop GPRS Accelerator is VPN-independent and can be used with companies' existing VPNs.

With its selection of optimisation technologies, First Hop GPRS Accelerator 1.1. always applies the most relevant to the application in question. For instance, by implementing MS Exchange acceleration on the application layer, the product efficiently solves time-out problems associated with lower-level acceleration.

First Hop GPRS Accelerator 1.1. allows for a fully centralised service mode for small and medium-size enterprise customers, enabled by the support for multiple APNs (Access Point Names), and a more tailored service for large enterprise customers with installation and remote management of the Enterprise Edition server. Enterprises with their own wireless data accelerating service can use the First Hop GPRS Accelerator 1.1. to provide their travelling employees with accelerated, secure end-to-end communications."
