Former Dtac Employees Petition for Old Jobs Back
Published on:
Some former employees at Thailand's Dtac are petitioning the Labour Ministry to demand their jobs back claiming that they were made to resign after setting up a labour union.
An advisor to their union told the Bangkok Post that they were forced to accept resignation offers of ten months wages otherwise they would be fired with just standard compensation.
The seven former employees had formed the labour union last year, but the mobile network operator denies this was the reason for the redundancies.
"The company agreed the employees had the right to form a union. There was no connection between this and the company's restructuring," he said.
The Dtac labour union intends to file the petition for their reinstatement with the ministry this week.
