Du Posts Sharp Rise in Quarterly Profits

UAE based mobile network operator, Du has announced that its fourth-quarter revenues rose by 13.6% to reach AED 2.74 billion, while net profit before royalty increased by 71.4% year on year to AED 852 million.
The company added 496,628 net new customers in the fourth-quarter, taking its customer base to 6.46 million at the end of last year.
In addition to customer growth across segments, an increase in data volumes and stronger ARPU played a significant role in Du's continued growth in mobile revenues, which reached AED 2.18 billion for the quarter, up 15.42% on Q4 2011.
Mobile ARPU for the quarter increased to AED 117.
