Former RIM CEO Sells Remaining Stake in the Company

Published on:

In a brief stock market filing, Research in Motion has announced that its former CEO, Jim Balsillie has sold his remaining shares in the company.

The filing simply noted that his holding had been reduced to zero at some point before the end of last year.

He was recorded as owning just over 5 percent of the company at the end of 2011 which made him the third largest single shareholder in the company -- but was ousted as co-CEO last year and has been presumed to be slowly selling down his shares in the company.

His fellow co-CEO, Mike Lazaridis also stepped down from the post at the same time, but remains on the board of directors and still owns 5.7 percent of the company's shares.
