Civil Aviation Authority Moves From BlackBerry to Good Technology

The UK's aviation regulator, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has selected Good Technology to manage its mobile email service as the organisation moves away from a reliance on just BlackBerry devices.
Good for Enterprise was chosen following CAA's months-long review of its strategy for its growing mobile workforce, which included a review of mobile working practices.
The CAA completed a pilot of Good for Enterprise across a number of devices and is now moving into full production. Starting immediately, staff will use either personally-owned or corporate-owned Android smartphones, iPads and iPhones with Good for Enterprise installed.
"At the start of this process, our aim was to satisfy employees' demand for use of newer devices by moving away from Blackberry, reduce our overall cost of ownership and increase functionality while not compromising security," according to Darryl Sampson, CAA's Head of Infrastructure. "The feedback on the Good Solution, from the group taking part in the pilot, has been very positive, particularly around how Good for Enterprise can work seamlessly across different operating systems and devices."
Now one-third of its 1,000 strong workforce are able to work remotely. The CAA has offices at Gatwick Airport, Holborn in London and six additional locations throughout the United Kingdom.
