Tele2 Selects Ericsson for Mobile Backhaul Network Expansion

Published on:

Tele2 has signed a frame agreement with Ericsson, commencing December 2012, for the expansion and upgrade of its mobile backhaul network throughout Europe.

Ericsson will provide Tele2 with its MINI-LINK series of microwave radio solutions as well as professional support services and training.

Robert Puskaric, President of Region Northern Europe and Central Asia at Ericsson, says: "We have supplied MINI-LINK microwave products to Tele2 for several years and are pleased to be able to continue to support Tele2's expansion."

One of the key features of Ericsson's MINI-LINK family of products is flexibility; they can be used both to create all-IP networks and in networks that are evolving from TDM to packet technology. The hybrid MINI-LINK TN and MINI-LINK CN can transport native Ethernet and native PDH (plesiochronous digital hierarchy) data over the same hop, which gives cost-effective migration from TDM to packet technology.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
