Thai Networks Delay CDMA Shut-Down
Published on:
Thailand's CAT Telecom has again delayed the shut-down of its CDMA network - this time to the end of April.
Originally due to close last month, the network was reprieved until the end of March as it still had around 110,000 users. The company has now extended the deadline again.
The extension of the shut-down will also affect the other CDMA network, True as they have to coordinate their actions. True had around 40,000 users on the older network at the last count.
CAT Telecom has started a major advertising campaign targeting the remaining users to migrate them to its WCDMA based service.
