Vodafone Italy to Sell PrePay SIM Cards in Tobacconists

Vodafone Italy has signed a deal that will see its prepay topup cards offered for sale in over 56,000 tobacco retailers across the country.
The deal was signed with Banca ITB, which is a specialist banker for the tobacco retailers, and has already installed electronic POS machines in some 16,000 retail outlets. The units will be modified to allow prepay topups to be credited to Vodafone accounts.
The companies said that the collaboration is the first in a series of planned developments which will see more Vodafone services offered via the electronic POS machines.
