Uganda Telecom Sued by Huawei Over $13 Million in Unpaid Bills

­Uganda Telecom is being sued by China's Huawei for US$13 million in unpaid invoices, according to local media reports.

The Ugandan mobile network is facing two separate lawsuits from two Huawei companies for US$10.25 million and US$2.78 million for outstanding bills covering equipment and services supplied between 2005 and 2009.

Citing the legal papers, the Monitor reported that Huawei is also seeking interest on the outstanding invoices.

The court has given the mobile network 15 days to respond.
