Nokia Siemens Networks Closing Factory in Germany

Published on:

Nokia Siemens Networks is cutting 650 jobs as it closes its factory in Bruchsal, Germany as part of its previously announced redundancy plans.

The staff were informed of the closure of the factory on Tuesday, and it is expected that the redundancies will be completed within six months.

"Our plan is to work with the labor council there to close the plant as soon as possible, at the latest by the end of 2013," a NSN spokesman said.

The company is cutting around a quarter of its staff worldwide -- some 17,000 jobs -- in a move aimed at saving EUR1 billion of annual savings by next year.
