Dubai Providing Free WiFi in the City's Buses

Published on:

UAE based Dubai has fitted Wi-Fi hotspots into its intercity buses, with the equipment supplied by Gowex. For the development of the project, the company has had the assistance of the local partner Transport High Tech Consultants (THTC).

Starting today, free Wi-Fi will be available onboard in a number of inter-emirates buses, which commute between the main Emirates in the region: Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The service could later be incorporated to the 1.364 buses of the RTA/PTA fleet, with around 30 million passengers a week.

Additionally, passengers will have a portal with real time information on the transportation services of the city.
