France Telecom Orange has launched an iPhone app called Libon which will offer free calls between users of the same app on the Orange network. An Android version will be launched early next year.

Libon users will be able to make free voice calls between Libon users, wherever they are, in the same country or on the other side of the world.

Libon also summarizes the user's recent conversations, pulling into one place instant messaging, calls, and voicemails.

A free version of Libon is available with free HD calls and text messaging between Libon users, a visual voicemail with greetings customization for up to 3 different contacts or groups of contacts, Text-to-speech functionality, voicemails transcription for Libon contact messages, iPhone and email notification of missed voicemails received, etc….

In all 95 countries, users can opt for the Premium option. This in-app subscription provides unlimited customized greetings, full-length transcription of all voicemail messages, unlimited storage and email copies of all voicemails. In addition, Libon offers its Premium users a full hour of international calling every month to landlines or mobile numbers in 31 countries.

In 2013 Libon will be RCS services compatible (chat & group chat, files transfer, On-call content sharing).
