Vivendi Raises Full Year Outlook on Improved Performance

French conglomerate Vivendi has reported that its third quarter revenues fell by 1.6% to EUR6.67 billion but that net profits more than doubled to EUR491 million.
The company has however improved its outlook for the full year to around EUR2.7 billion, compared to earlier estimates of UER2.5 billion. Business performance offsetting economic slowdown and heavier tax environment.
For its French mobile subsidiary, SFR, the postpaid mobile customer base increased by 40,000 additions. At the end of September 2012, SFR's postpaid mobile customer base reached 16.454 million, a 1.6% increase year-on-year. The customer mix (the percentage of the number of postpaid customers in the total customer base) amounted to 78.8%, a 2.2 percentage points increase year-on-year.
SFR's total mobile customer base reached 20.876 million. Mobile Internet usage continued to develop, with 47% of SFR customers being equipped with a smartphone (37% at the end of September 2011).
