USA based Cellular One has entered into an agreement with Verizon Wireless to participate in its LTE in Rural America program. Under the program, Verizon Wireless is working with rural carriers to jumpstart the delivery of LTE services to rural communities throughout the United States.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with Cellular One and believe that our companies working together will greatly enhance the mobile broadband infrastructure in rural East Texas," said Molly Feldman, VP of Business Development for Verizon Wireless.

Under the agreement, Verizon Wireless will lease to Cellular One its 700 MHz upper C block wireless spectrum in parts of Texas. Using the leased spectrum, Cellular One will construct and operate a 4G LTE network serving Cellular One customers, Verizon Wireless customers, and customers of other LTE in Rural America participants.

In addition, Cellular One customers will have access to Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE network throughout the United States.
