Logica Wins First Ericsson Partnership Contract

Logica has announced a US$2.3m mobile short messaging contract in Latin America. At the end of last year Ericsson and Logica reached a global agreement that positions Logica as Ericsson's preferred supplier of short messaging solutions. Ericsson will adopt Logica's short messaging product portfolio to meet customer demand for SMS applications and services.

The new contract in Latin America is the first joint customer under this partnership and is a new customer site for Logica. Ericsson will be the sole messaging supplier, replacing existing TDMA SMS platforms with Logica's Telepath SMS platform. Logica's Telepath SMSC and OTAP will be utilised to deliver multiple short messaging services and over the air provisioning for 15 million subscribers. In this regard, Logica's technology will bring new and innovative ways to deliver SMS revenue such as the support of multiple technologies on one platform, inter-working between multiple SMSC's, seamless access to SMS services globally and two-way SMS for TDMA/GSM."
