US Investors Found Security Flaws in Huawei Kit - No Evidence of Spying Though

Although a group of US politicians recently published a report warning companies to avoid dealing with China's Huawei, a separate probe into the company by the White House could not find an evidence that the company was inserting backdoors into its code on behalf of the Chinese government.
Citing two people familiar with the 18-month probe -- which hasn't been published yet -- the Reuters news agency said that the concerns about Huawei equipment was based not on spying concerns, but basic issues of poor security in the software which made Huawei kit vulnerable to hackers.
It has however raised the possibility that the security holes are not accidental oversights, but were deliberately inserted in order to give the Chinese military a route into Huawei supported networks.
Huawei has always denied working with the Chinese government or military.
"As far as the report cited is concerned, it proves again that allegations against Huawei are unfounded," said foreign ministry spokesman Hong Lei, when asked to comment on an earlier version of this story.
