Published on:

Struggling smartphone manufacturer, HTC has reduced its component purchases from Samsung Electronics in favour of comparable products from from OmniVision and Sony.

Citing industry sources, Taiwan based DigiTimes reported that HTC has switched CMOS image sensor supplies to OmniVision and Sony.

The company has also shifted part of its AMOLED panel orders to AU Optronics, although it is still reliant on Samsung for some of its inventory due to capacity limits at AUO.
