Published on:

Sony Mobile has announced that it is starting to rollout an Android OS upgrade for some of its existing smartphone owners. The rollout will continue over the next few weeks in markets globally.

The company is offering an Android 4.0 upgrade, along with some new media applications - and the service will be deployed to the Xperia go, Xperia U and Xperia sola smartphones.

In addition, the Xperia sola (known as Xperia sole in some markets) will be getting a service called "glove mode", which is an extension of the "floating touch" technology that makes it possible to use your Xperia sola in the cold whilst wearing gloves

The company said that the upgrades will be available from the middle of this week - and will be customized specific to operator requirements.
