Claro Chile Plans $500 Million Network Investment in 2013

­The general manager of Claro in Chile, Gerardo Munoz, has said the company expected to invest up to US$500 million in network upgrades during 2013.

"We review our budget for next year. Investment will be around the same amount that we are closing in 2012 that is 500 million dollars," Muñoz told El Economista.

The executive explained that the amount will be allocated to infrastructure development.

"The investment will focus on infrastructure. We have big plans for LTE technology, we will be implementing the coming year. Chile is taking care of our existing platforms such as 2G and 3G, also making investments in technologies and cable television digital, "he said.
