UAE Testing Wi-Fi in Buses Travelling Between Dubai and Abu Dhabi

The UAE's Public Transport Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has embarked on a trial run of Wi-Fi internet service on board buses and coaches shuttling between Dubai and Abu Dhabi for passengers commuting between the two Emirates.
Eisa Abdul Rahman Al Dosari, CEO of RTA Public Transport Agency, said: "The Wi-Fi internet service is being tentatively offered to passengers commuting on board buses shuttling between Dubai and Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the two telecommunication providers in the UAE (Etisalat and Du)."
"We've launched this service on a trial base in a single bus by the end of last June, and recently expanded the service offering to cover four other buses bringing the total number of buses in which the pilot service is offered to 5, and the Agency is braced to the full launch of the service early next year.
"The service is provided as an added value to commuters of inter-city buses in general and deluxe coaches shuttling between Dubai and Abu Dhabi Emirates in particular with a view to raising customers satisfaction with the galaxy of diverse services on offer, including the services on board this type of coaches," continued Al Dosari.
"The Wi-Fi internet service on board the five coaches deployed on Dubai - Abu Dhabi line will be subject to a continuous and precise assessment in order to prepare well for broadening the scope of the service to span the entire buses operating on this line," said the CEO of RTA Public Transport Agency in a final remark.
