Digicel to Shut Down Haitian Subsidiary Network in October

Published on:

Digicel Haiti has announced that it is closing down the network operated by its subsidiary company, Voila on the 15th October. The closure follows several months of work integrating the two network infrastructures.

The company noted that customers using mobile phones that only worked on Voila's 850Mhz radio spectrum will cease to function, and it is contacting customers affected with offers to migrate to the Digicel network.

Digicel aquired Voila in April this year from its parent company, US-based Trilogy International Partners, for an undisclosed sum. At the time, it was said that they intended that the networks would continue to be run separately.
