SumUp Opens Irish Office for Mobile Credit Card Processing

SumUp, a German company offering credit card processing with a smartphone -- very similar to the USA based Square service -- is setting up an office in Dublin, Ireland.
The customer, technical support and development centre will lead to the creation of 40 new jobs. and the investment is being supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland. Recruitment for the 40 new jobs is already underway.
The announcement follows on from SumUp's launch of its mobile POS technology in Great Britain, Ireland, Germany and Austria in late August.
Welcoming the announcement, Daniel Klein, CEO of SumUp, commented: "I am very enthused about the establishment of SumUp's Irish operation and I look forward to its growth and development in Dublin."
SumUp supplies retailers with a mobile app and card reader capable of turning any Apple iPhone, iPad, iPhone Touch or Android-based smart phone into a terminal capable of processing credit and debit card payments.
