Bouygues Telecom in Talks to Sell Mobile Towers to Private Equity Group

­The French conglomerate that owns Bouygues Telecom is in talks to sell its mobile towers to a private equity group for around EUR200 million (US$250 million).

Citing people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg News reported that the company is talking to Antin Infrastructure Partners about a sale of around 2,300 towers across the country.

The talks are said to be exclusive, and a deal is expected to be announced within the next few weeks.

A Bouygues Telecom representative has confirmed the talks are taking place without elaborating further.

All three of France's primary mobile networks have suffered heavy declines in revenues due to a price was initiated by the entry of the country's fourth mobile network last year. Bouygues Group is looking to pay down debt and cut costs as it responds to the increased competition and debt which had increased sharply following the purchase of LTE licenses.
